Bands

A selection of acts I’m currently working with.

  • ‘OVER ICE’ - CONTEMPORARY LOUNGE DUO
I have teamed up with vocalist Koser Saeed (Rhythm Junkies) to create a duo and repertoire that’s compact, cool, contemporary and at a volume and price to suit smaller venues and restaurants. Hear a selection of songs at:
    www.rhythmjunkies.co.uk/html/over_ice.html

  • MARK BETTIS AND ETHEL FITZJOHN - JAZZ DUO.
I have worked with Ethel since 2005. During that time we have completed cruise contracts and performed at many venues in the UK.
We perform a classy selection of mainstream jazz standards, Latin grooves and Ethel’s original numbers. Additional musicians (eg. Drummer or percussionist) can be added if required.

  • THE RHYTHM JUNKIES - FUNCTION BAND COLLECTIVE.
A Birmingham based 5-piece function band collective featuring my mate James Rawson on drums as well as some twenty talented and experienced musicians. This allows for more than one band to perform on the same night. They perform classic soul and disco hits right up to chart tunes. They come fully equipped with top-notch PA and lights and can adapt to many different events. Check out their site:

  • THE SHARKS - 5-PIECE SOUL/BLUES/FUNK BAND.
Popular Kidderminster based band ’The Sharks’ have formed from members of ’Shark Attack’ plus a couple of new additions. They perform at venues across the West Midlands. Check out
www.sharkattack.tripod.com the home of ‘the Sharks for gig dates and further info.

  • MARK BETTIS - SOLO KEYBOARD PLAYER & VOCALIST.
I can work self-contained and provide background music, strict-tempo ballroom/sequence/line-dance music or popular music from the 20’s to the present with vocals to suit a varied audience. I can also custom-make backing tracks and provide studio services such as post production, written charts and audio transfer to or from tape, vinyl, MD, CD, and MP3.
